Adelinda Hyde, L.M.T. – Reiki, Massage
Adelinda has lived in the Catskill Mountains for 23 years. She is a master herbalist, herbal gardener, and greenhouse manager. She holds a BFA from Southern Oregon University, and has held herbal apprenticeships under Pam Montgomery and Kate Gilday. She has worked with herbalists Susan Weed, Matthew Wood, Violet Snow, and David Hoffman and is the owner of Oak Hollow Herbals.
In 1995, Adelinda was given an endowment to receive Reiki Master Training. She studied with Cathy Parisi and William Rand of the Usui lineage. She has integrated her knowledge of medicinal herbs and the energetics of the plants into her Reiki practice, and uses both creatively in her private practice work, as well the community work she does for the Health Care is a Human Right Free Holistic Clinics.
Amber Rose, PhD, L.Ac, LCSW – Acupuncture
Amber Rose has been a healer all her life. As a psychotherapist and social worker, she studied Five-Element Acupuncture in order to expand her work to treat body, mind, & spirit. After getting her MSW 1978 and her acupuncture degree in 1986 (and being board-certified), Amber spent many years in private practice. She also worked as an administrator and supervisor at 3 acupuncture schools. In 1996 she was ordained as an interfaith minister, enhancing the modalities through which she does her work of compassion and empathy. Amber is the author of two books, Bee in Balance and Penetrating Heaven, as well as of numerous articles on complementary medicine and treatment. She has been interviewed by such well-known personalities as Connie Chung, Larry King, and Peter Jennings. She also was a singer-songwriter who performed alongside Pete Seeger, Joan Baez & Cesar Chavez.

Angel Ortloff – Shiatsu Massage, Co-Director of Outreach & Development for HCHR
Angel Ortloff is an accomplished artist and potter. Her hands, which once sculpted clay, now lend their strength and purpose to the healing art of of massage. A graduate of the Center for Natural Wellness in Albany, NY, Angel is a New York State licensed massage therapist providing modalities according to client preferences and needs, but specializing in Shiatsu. She is currently an assistant teacher in massage therapy at her alma mater, where she seeks to share her skills and experiences to future LMT’s.
In addition to her private massage therapy practice, and her volunteer time with the Health Care is a Human Right Free Holistic Clinics, Angel also assistant fitness instructor at Benedictine Hospital, as well as at the Alternatives to Incarceration program for the Ulster County Community Corrections Department.

Annie Borgenicht – Feldenkrais
Annie Borgenicht is native daughter of New York State. She grew up outside of Manhattan and in the Catskill Mountains. After moving to California in the 1970′s she became a health care worker, attaining her BA in 1973 from the University of California at Irvine. After moving back to New York State she received her RN from the University of New York at Albany in 1980. Annie also studied at the Institute for the Study of Somatic Education from 1992 through 1996.
After sustaining a serious back injury in the 1980s, Annie began exploring the Feldenkrais Method as a method of healing and pain management. As a result of living with chronic pain, she adapted the Feldenkrais Method as a water-based therapy teaching people how to use the benefits of water so that they may be more comfortable on land.
Annie is also a painter. She uses watercolors and acrylics to express her deep love of nature, and to express herself creatively in times of physical discomfort. Her professional affiliations include the Feldenkrais Guild, the American Pain Foundation, and the Hudson River Painters Guild.
Arlene Spool – Reflexology
Arlene was first introduced to Reflexology in 2006 by Health Care is a Human Right practitioner Reverend Thurman Greco. As she later said, “That’s when I got hooked.” Upon further exploration of the philosophy and benefits of Reflexology, she made the decision to become certified and continued her education by taking the 300 required hours
of study, all with Reverend Greco. She received her certification in 2008. In addition to her Reflexology practice, Arlene also holds a Level III Reiki certification.
Cher Laughlin – Reflexology
Cher has been a practicing Reflexologist for 20 years. After studying and receiving her certification from the Laura Norman School of Foot Reflexology in 1989, she built successful practices in Manhattan and Brooklyn. After moving to the Catskills she continued her practice while studying design and selling antiques. Cher currently runs her own design business, and continues to share her gift of healing with a faithful clientele who visit her for Reflexology treatments.

Jipala Reicher-Kagan, L.Ac – Acupuncture
Jipala practices three different styles of acupuncture in addition to having ten years of experience working with a certified nutritionist. She is knowledgeable in Western herbology, homeopathic medicine, nutritional supplements and dietary/lifestyle counseling. Jipala’s main focus is on Transpersonal Acupuncture which emphasizes nurturing the connections between the emotional, spiritual, and physical aspects of the self and the outer world by working with the adaptive quality of the body, and the body’s ability to heal itself.
Jipala holds a Master of Science in acupuncture from the Tri-State College of Acupuncture in New York City in addition to a BA in Psychology from Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado. She has also completed a five year Post-Graduate study in Alchemical Acupuncture with Lorie Eve Dechar.
Joan Apter, L.M.T. – Aromatherapy
Joan Apter is a licensed Massage Therapist with over 14 years of training in the use and application of therapeutic Essential Oils. She has advanced training in the medicinal applications of essential oils from Ege University in Izmir, Turkey and holds an international certificate of study from the Pacific Institute of Aromatherapy. Joan is a registered professional member of the International Aromatherapy Association and has studied all over the world with luminaries in the field, including Dr. Daniel Penoel, Jean Claude LaPraz, Michael Scholes, Valerie Ann Worwood, Kurt Schnaubelt and Dr. Gary Young. Joan offers aromatherapy massage for physical, mental/emotional and spiritual balance.
Judy Wyman – Flower Essences
Julia Rose, MSTOM, L.Ac – Acupuncture, Co-Director of HCHR
Julia graduated from the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in New York City, one of the most rigorous Chinese Medicine programs in the country, where she earned her Master of Science in Oriental Medicine (acupuncture and Chinese herbology). In addition to her formal training, Julia has studied Chinese orthopedic massage and bonesetting with a master acupuncturist and bone setter in New York City. She continues to study under the tutelage of a mentor and senior acupuncturist in Japan where she grew up, and a Master Tung style acupuncture specialist in Los Angeles.
Julie Evans – Body Awareness Counselor
Julie uses touch and talk therapy to facilitate shifts and to foster empowerment in her clients.
In addition to her counseling practice, Julie is an adjunct professor with the State University of New York where she specializes in mentoring, narrative medicine, health and nutrition. Her goal is to help her students and clients realize their potential and their dreams. Julie’s work is centered around the philosophy that people must feel free to release the past and step into the present to move forward into a more balanced state.
Julie holds a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies, and a Bachelor of Arts in Pastoral Counseling and Creative Writing. She has also studied in the Empire State College Graduate Program in Mentoring, the Arizona State University programs in Psychology and Women’s Studies, and the University of Minnesota Journalism program. She has also worked with Creative Voice Development Group as a Professional Voice Actor.
Kathryn Haber, LMT – Massage, Cranio-sacral therapy
As a New York City Hospital social worker, Kathryn imagined massage would be a healthy complement to her therapeutic practice. However, during the course of her studies at The Swedish Institute, she soon realized that massage would become a much more significant part of her practice. After graduating in the mid 90’s she moved upstate and quickly developed a full time practice as a massage therapist. She furthered her studies at Niara Healing Arts, with a focus on prenatal and labor support massage. She then became a certified cranio-sacral therapist through The Upledger Institute and is currently expanding her study of traditional Thai Yoga Massage with The Lotus Palm School of Montreal.

Lainy Reicher, ND, CDN, CN – Nutrition
Lainy Reicher currently resides in Woodstock, N.Y. In 1973 , Lainy traveled to Mexico to learn the ancient healing methods of the Mayan Indians. She spent three years in the field, identifying, gathering and learning the proper use of indigenous medicinal plants. That same year she became a “Barefoot Doctor”.
Several years later, Lainy attended the Taos School of Natural Healing in New Mexico where she developed a working knowledge of herbology, and she also studied anatomy, physiology and nutrition. She learned to identify weaknesses in the body’s organs and energy systems, and how to successfully support clients through their “healing crisis.”
In 1976 Lainy was awarded a Masters Degree in Herbology by Emerson College. In 1982 Lainy became a Naturopath. Lainy opened her holistic practice in the Hudson Valley in 1992. In 1998 she became a Clinical Nutritionist and in 1999 she became a Certified Dietary Nutritionist.
A strong believer in giving back to the community that supports her practice, Lainy donates her time several times a year to free clinics run by Family of Woodstock.
Linda Zelizer – Energy Psychology
Linda Zelizer, MS, PD has a BS in Sociology and Social Work from Brooklyn College, an MS in Education from Brooklyn College and a Sixth Year Professional Diploma in Counseling and Human Resources from the University of Bridgeport. Linda has 35 years of experience working as a psychotherapist and includes many different healing modalities in her work including Synergy body work, hypnosis, polarity therapy and Mariel healing. Linda is also a Reiki master, a yoga and golden tai chi instructor, and a Spiritual Counsellor.
Linda holds a graduate level certificate in energy psychology- a powerful technique that get results faster than anything else she has studied.
Lorry Salluzzi - Reiki, ETPS Therapy
When Lorry was diagnosed with Systemic Lupus in 1988, she explored and integrated self-healing modalities such as guided imagery meditation and Reiki with the traditional medical treatments prescribed by her doctors. Declared in remission in 1993, her foray into alternative healing led her to her current path and practice as a holistic practitioner.
Lorry holds certifications in ETPS Therapy and Hypnotherapy. She is a Reiki and Lightarian Reiki Master, a Magnified Healing Master, and Kofutu Master. She teaches Reiki and other alternative healing arts at the Merrick Health and Wellness Center in Long Island, and The Spirit Connection in Manhattan. She also teaches in various locations in Ulster County, New York including Ulster Community College in Stoneridge, Infiniti Family Chiropractic and Mirabai Books in Woodstock, and the Emerson Spa and Resort in Mount Tremper.
Known for her intuition and accuracy as a psychic medium, she has been interviewed for several newspapers and magazines, as well as on television and radio.

A former professional dancer, Ricarda has had a healing practice in New York City and The Hudson Valley for ten years. She is a Certified Practitioner of Matrix Energetics, a system of transformation and healing founded by Dr Richard Bartlett. She is also a Level III Reiki Master. Other training includes the Emotional Freedom Technique, Awakening Your Light Body, various methods of meditation, as well as the shamanic traditions of the native Americans and native Hawaiians. In addition, Ricarda has been a yoga teacher for over twenty years.
From a lifetime of study and experience, Ricarda’s knowledge of the human body is extensive, as is her understanding of the mind/body connection—how thoughts and emotions influence our physical health. With her multi-faceted training, Ricarda helps people of all ages to focus their energy and intention, empowering them to create quick and lasting transformation in their bodies and their lives.

Susan Weeks, RPA-C – Physician Assistant, Director of HCHR
Susan Weeks began her professional medical career as a Paramedic in NYC, where she worked for NYC EMS for 8 years. She was then recruited to serve as the Pediatric Trauma Coordinator for the Pediatric Surgery Department at Harlem Hospital for the next 5 years, where she focused on developing programs to help keep children from getting injured. A particular focus while there was the epidemic of gunshot wounds to children.
Because she missed clinical work, Susan enrolled in the Harlem Hospital Physician Assistant Program, and graduated in 1995 with a BS from City College of New York and certification as a Physician Assistant. (Previously she had earned a BA in English Literature from the University of Rochester, with a minor concentration in music at Eastman School of Music) She then worked as a PA at the Bellevue Hospital Women’s Clinic, and in Emergency Rooms at hospitals in NYC and Kingston, NY. She taught Anatomy, CPR, ACLS for Adults, Children and Infants, developed a course in “How to Handle Emergencies” for the lay person, and is cited as an author on articles on Anatomy, Injury Prevention, and our Healthcare System.
Profoundly dissatisfied with the direction the practice of medicine was taking in this country, Susan studied homeopathy at Hudson Valley School of Classical Homeopathy and Teleosis School of Classical Homeopathy for 4 years. Upon graduating, Susan and fellow Teleosis students Vickie O’Dougherty, Susan Bissonnette and Jill Elliot (a veterinarian) realized, since health insurance did not cover it, that the costs of holistic treatment made it a luxury for most working people. In 2003 they organized the first Healthcare is a Human Right Free Holistic Clinic for Family of Woodstock in Kingston, NY.

Vickie Anne O’Dougherty has been practicing homeopathy since 1997 and is a candidate for Certification in Classical Homeopathy . She completed her Professional and Clinical studies at the Teleosis School of Homeopathy and is a member of the North American Society of Homeopaths and the National Center for Homeopathy. She is a founding member of Health Care is a Human Right Clinic, which operates under the auspices of Family of Woodstock.
